Public Speaking

What is public speaking? It is the process of speaking to a group of people in a stuctured, deliberate manner, intended to inform, influence, or entertain the listeners.

Public speaking is challenging for those of us who want to influence people.

The objectives public speaking
1. Informative
This is to provide listeners with new information.
2. Persuasive
This to change, either in direction or strength, the attitudes or behaviors of our listeners.
3. Entertaining
This is to provide listeners with momentary entertainment.

10 Tips for Public Speaking

Feeling some nervousness before giving a speech is natural and even beneficial, but too much nervousness can be detrimental. Here are some proven tips on how to control your butterflies and give better presentations.

1. Know your material. Pick a topic you are interested in. Know more about it than you include in your speech. Use humor, personal stories and conversational language-that way you won't easily forget what to say.

2. Practice. Practice. Practice! Rehearse out loud with all equipment you plan on using. Revise as necessary. Work to control filler words; Practice, pause and breathe. Practice with a timer and allow time for the unexpected.

3. Know the audience. Greet some of the audience members are they arrive. It's easier to speak to a group of friends than to strangers.

4. Know the room. Arrive earl, walk around the speaking area and practice using the microphone and any visual aids.

5. Relax. Begin by addressing the audience. It buys you time and calms your nerves. Pause, smile and count to three before saying anything. ("One one-thousand, two one thousand, three one-thousand. Pause. Begin.) Transform nervous energy into enthusiasm.

6. Visualize yourself giving your speech. Imagine yourself speaking, your voice loud, clear and confident. Visualize the audience clapping - it will boost your confidence.

7. Realize that people want you to succed. Audiences want you to be interesting, stimulting, informative and entertaining. They're rooting for you.

8. Don't apologize for any nervousness or problem - the audience probably never noticed it.

9. Concentrate on the message - not the medium. Focus your attention away from your own anxieties and concentrate on your message and your audience.

10.Gain experience. Mainly, your speech should represent you - as an authority and as a person. Experience builds confidence, which is the key to effective speaking.

My Poem

Taste Hum and Word

I want you are loyal patron for me
as light that illuminate my day
unlikely my affection as big as your affection
but I shall give entire my affections to you
although beautiful time expire
but all stored in heart
now I only can present
taste hum and word to you "father"

This poem is my creation. I wrote this poem because I'm unbelievably missed a father figure in my life. I will miss a presence which I can never again since his death when I was in Junior Primary School because he had died. I wrote this poem as well as to entertain my self often envious of my friends who still have a father. But I've always believed behind what I'm experiencing right now there must be a silver lining. So I don't want to continue to drag this on my envy because it's useless worthless. I have to do is how happy my parents. Because it is an obligation of a son to his parents.

Fighting...!!!

This is My Story, Which Your Story ?

I AND MENTORING

"Mentoring" the short word but it's hidden meaningful in it. Although not complete one semesters I follow this activity, I can feel positive changes in myself. Mentoring learns me to study always be better, and always practice to get Allah's mercy.

In Mentoring, I meet extraordinary people never I see before. Mentoring meet me with new friends with some different characters each other. Except that, I also meet with someone until this second I am very interesting. She is my Mentor. I think, she is inspiration girl and can awake my heart to always practice to correct all aspects in myself not good. From that, I know more the meaning of a relationship. The relationship  is not only a relation but relationship based on Aqidah, and the Moslem Law. It is "Ukhuwah Islamiyah" include Ta'aruf, Tafahum, Ta'awun. and Takaful.

Mentoring makes its own colour in my day. In the mid of busy campus, mentoring present as conditioning the  heart for the souls who are hungry for spiritual intake like me. Without the presence of mentoring I do not know what my condition now. Maybe I am being indifferent to religious knowledge and drift on the beauty of the world. Now the distance that separates between me and my parents no longer a significant issue because they now that here I was fine and InsyaAlloh always protected by the positive things around me through various activities such as one that is spiritual mentoring. Thank you for Mentoring, I can learn from you how to be a figure of true muslim and from you anyway I was able to understand the true meaning of life.

Wish be useful ... ^_^

The White House Garden

During World War II, First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt led the war effort on the home front by establishing a victory garden at the White House. Nearly six decades later, another vegetable garden sprouted on White House grounds to promote Lady Michelle Obama's cause of reducing childhood obesity by encouraging youngsters to eat a healthy diet loaded with fresh fruits and vegetables.

Fifth graders from Bancroft Elementary School in Washington, which has had its own garden since 2001, have helped Mrs. Obama dig and tend the garden and harvest the produce. The students also work with chefs in the White House Kitchen to prepare and cook what they've grown. Some food from the garden finds its way into formal White House dinners and the Obama's family meals; the rest is donated to a local kitchen that serves the homeless.

The garden features 55 varieties of vegetables, some from seeds handed down from the nation's third president, Thomas Jefferson. All are grown organically, fertilized with White House compost. Beneficial insects, such as ladybugs and mantises, help control pets.

Mrs. Obama, who notes that the project was inspired in part by her desire to improve her own children's diet, says, "The Garden is an important introduction to what I hope will be a new way that our country thinks about food".
