About Al Qur'an

Al Qur'an is the holy book revealed by God to Prophet Muhammad SAW through the angel Gabriel intermediaries. The Qur'an was revealed to His Messenger, Muhammad to save mankind from the darkness, into the light. Allah says: "(This is) a Book We have sent down to you so that you may pull out people from darkness to bright light by permission of their Lord, (ie) to the way of the Lord, the Mighty, the praised".(Ibrahim:1)

In terms of language, the Qur'an comes from the Arabic word meaning "reading" or "something that is read over and over again". Word of the Qur'an is the noun form (masdar) from qara'a verb meaning to read. Meanwhile, according to the term, "Kalam is a miracle that Allah revealed to Prophet Muhammad SAW and Manuscripts written and narrated gradually, including the reading of worship".

Al Qur'an derived gradually over 22 years 2 months 22 days. By scholars divide this down period is devided into 2 periods, namely the period of Mecca and Medina period. Mecca period lasted for 12 years of prophethood of the Prophet Muhammad and the letters were dropped at this time Makkiyyah classified letter. While the Medina period that dates back to the emigration lasted for 10 years and a letter fell during this period called Madaniyah letter.

Al Qur'an consist of 114 parts, known as suras (letter) and 6236 verses. Word of God first revealed the Surah Al 'Alaq:1-5 in the cave. While the last letter that revealed the surah Al Maidah:3
